Act1 Interactive was started in May, 1996, by Steve Fazekas, officially in May-June, 1996,
as a design firm and webhosting.
The direction changed to that of e-commerce in early 1999 and
the JavaScript.Pro Shopping Cart was created. The cart was named based on the fact that
the cart code itself is based in JavaScript, while the order / transaction portion was
built in Perl, ASP, or ColdFusion, depending on the application server version to be used.
From that version, we created a database-enabled version we call the ColdFusion version,
based on using
ColdFusion Application Server & code from Macromedia and a database in SQL 2000.
The official progam name is now "The Act1 Interactive Shopping Cart".
Though our main focus is ecommerce, Steve has focused on customized program consulting
in Cold Fusion and SQL.
The consulting focus of Act1 Interactive allows us to tie in many different ideas and
experiences into our core program. This is an advantage because we use learning experiences
from many projects and tie those ideas and successes right back into this program. Not only
does this help us, but it helps you in having the diverse experiences of a consulting background
behind the program & service you will be using for your business!
